Mr. Cripps joined Stifel as the Managing Director of Portfolio Strategy in 2005 following the acquisition of Legg Mason's Capital Markets Group. He was named the Chief Investment Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager of EquityCompass upon the group's spin-off as a subsidiary in June 2008. Mr. Cripps has more than 25 years’ experience in developing and monitoring investment opinions, as well as providing market commentary, strategy and portfolio advice to individual and institutional clients.

The EquityCompass investment philosophy and process were developed and refined under Mr. Cripps's leadership and were utilized in a variety of programs at Legg Mason and currently are being offered at Stifel. Prior to joining Stifel, Mr. Cripps served as the Chief Market Strategist and Co-chairman of the investment committee at Legg Mason Wood Walker. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the Baltimore Security Analysts Society.

Larry C. Baker, CFA

Mr. Baker joined EquityCompass in 2010 and is currently the Sr. Portfolio Manager of the Quality Dividend and Select Quality portfolios. Mr. Baker has more than 25 years of investment experience, most recently with Legg Mason where he was a Managing Director and award-winning security analyst in the Industrials sector. Prior to joining Legg Mason in 1990, he was a Vice President and securities analyst at Dillon, Read & Co. Mr. Baker began his career as a securities analyst with E. F. Hutton where he spent 10 years. Mr. Baker has been named a three-time member of Institutional Investor's All-American Research Team and recognized as an All-Star analyst by The Wall Street Journal Best on the Street and Forbes/StarMine.

Mr. Baker received a B.S. from the United States Military Academy and a Masters in Finance from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a CFA charter holder.

Robert Hagstrom

Mr. Hagstrom joined EquityCompass in July 2014 and now manages the EquityCompass Global Leaders Portfolio. Mr. Hagstrom has more than 30 years of investment experience; notably as the Portfolio Manager of the Growth Equity Strategy at Legg Mason Capital Management for 14 years where he managed over $7 billion in assets. He was also the recipient of “Honorable Mention” as Morningstar’s U.S. Equity Manager of the Year in 2007.

Mr. Hagstrom is the author of nine investment books including The New York Times best-seller The Warren Buffet Way (1994, 2003,2013) - considered the definitive book on how Warren Buffet analyzes stocks and makes investment decisions. The book now its third edition has sold more than one million copies worldwide, and has been translated into 17 languages. He is also the author of the first book on concentrated investing : The Warren Buffet Portfolio: Mastering the Power of the Focus Investment Strategy (1999), a BusinessWeek best seller, recommended reading by Charlie Munger, Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and ranked as one of the top five “Best Personal Finance Books” of 1999 by Money magazine.

Mr. Hagstrom earned his Bachelor and Masters of Arts degrees from Villanova University and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Philadelphia.

Mr. McCann is responsible for managing quantitative equity portfolios, investment research, and new product development at EquityCompass. He has been working with EquityCompass and its predecessor the Portfolio Strategy Group since 2002 and led the efforts to develop, refine and implement the EquityCompass proprietary quantitative models and rules-based investment strategies.

Previously, Mr. McCann worked for a Boston-based financial advisory firm where his responsibilities included the creation, back testing, and implementation of a quantitative rules-based discipline for the group’s asset management efforts. Prior to that he worked at Morgan Stanley and UBS Securities (via PaineWebber) in various positions. He has a B.S. in business from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
